One Day in Nice France Travel Guide – Your perfect day

This is a one day in Nice France travel guide. Sometimes you only have a short amount of time to explore your travel destination. But you still want to make the best out of it.

My top tip: Be Flexible. Change the schedule according to your mood. Too tired for the walk up to the hilltop? Go for lunch first or skip the castle hill completely.
The atmosphere is was makes Nice special so enjoy it and soak in as much as possible. Don’t stress about having to see every single sight.

I usually like to pick one or two tourist attractions and use the rest of my time exploring the city by just wandering around.

In this travel guide, I will show you the best things to see and to do on your day in Nice.

Here is my one day in Nice Travel Guide:

Morning

Breakfast Option 1:
Chez Les Garçons Nice

A good day starts with a good breakfast. That’s why I included two breakfast spots. Chez Les Garçons is the Instagram spot out of the breakfast cafés. They offer fruit bowls, poke bowls, avocado toast, cookies, and more. Served in a trendy atmosphere.

Breakfast Option 2: Mariass 1901

Breakfast option number two is a bit more traditional. They have breakfast classics such as (chocolate-)croissants, crêpes, toast, and baguettes. And they also serve brunch!

Both breakfast options are a 10-15 min walk to the museum.

Visit the Museum Marc Chagall

I like to include cultural activities in my travels. For Nice I chose the Marc Chagall Museum. Marc Chagall was a famous Russian-French artist, known for many major artistic styles.

Afternoon

Lunch at Chez Palmyre

For an authentic French lunch go to Chez Palmyre. They have a daily changing three meal course, with menu items to choose from, for 20€ (as of August 2020).

But you should reserve a table in person beforehand.

Get a Gelato at Papilla

As mentioned in my post about Nice fun facts Nice was not always french. As the ice cream was not an Italian invention… I’m not sure where I was going with this. Just get a delicious cone of ice cream!

Vieille Ville

Promenade the old town of Nice. Walk the narrow, cobblestone streets, see the pastel-coloured houses with shops selling soap from Nice, textiles from Provence and meat and cheese. On the street ”Cours Saleya” you’ll find a lot of markets to explore.

Parc de la Colline du Château

If you want to know more about the parc check out my facts about Nice post. Otherwise, just go up the little hill and enjoy the panoramic view of Nice and the scenery.

Nice Beach

An obvious tip for a trip to a coastal city with a beach: Chose your favorite spot at the beach and relax!
